What is the Lorentz force on a charge q moving with velocity v in electric and magnetic fields E and B?
  1. q(E+v×B) ✓
  2. q(E+B×v)
  3. q(v·B+E)
  4. qE+vB
Answer: A. Electric and magnetic forces add vectorially as F=q(E+v×B).
Why not B: Reversing the cross-product order reverses the magnetic-force direction.
Why not C: A scalar dot product cannot be added to the vector electric field.
Why not D: The magnetic contribution requires vector direction and the sine of the included angle.
A +2.00 μC charge moves at 3.00×10⁵ m s⁻¹ perpendicular to a 0.400 T field. What is the force magnitude?
  1. 0.0240 N
  2. 0.120 N
  3. 0.240 N ✓
  4. 2.40 N
Answer: C. F=qvB=(2.00×10⁻⁶)(3.00×10⁵)(0.400)=0.240 N.
Why not A: This is one-tenth of qvB.
Why not B: This introduces an unwarranted factor one-half.
Why not D: This is ten times the product qvB.
A 100-turn circular coil of radius 0.0800 m carries 0.400 A. What is its central field? Use μ₀=4π×10⁻⁷ T m A⁻¹.
  1. 3.14×10⁻⁴ T ✓
  2. 6.28×10⁻⁴ T
  3. 3.14×10⁻⁵ T
  4. 1.00×10⁻⁴ T
Answer: A. B=μ₀NI/(2R)=(4π×10⁻⁷)(100)(0.400)/(0.160)=3.14×10⁻⁴ T.
Why not B: This omits the factor two in the loop-centre denominator.
Why not C: This is ten times smaller than μ₀NI/(2R).
Why not D: This drops the numerical factor π from the evaluated result.

Questions

How many NEET questions are there on Moving Charges and Magnetism?

This chapter test has 30 questions — 10 easy, 14 medium and 6 hard — all written against the NCERT Class 12 chapter.

Is this NEET Physics chapter test free?

Yes. Every chapter test is free with no login, and you get your all-India rank on every one. Nothing on the site is on sale right now.

Do the questions explain the wrong options?

Yes — every distractor carries its own explanation naming the specific misconception that makes a student pick it. That is the part most question banks skip, and it is the part that changes your next attempt.
