My favourite festival is Pongal.

I celebrate it in the month of January.

I celebrate it with my family.

I celebrate Pongal to get the blessings of the Sun God and to enrich agriculture. This festival is dedicated to the Sun God as a mark of gratitude for the sunshine that helps crops grow. It also celebrates the agricultural prosperity and the successful harvest, acknowledging the importance of farming and nature's bounty in our lives.

Hamid did not go on the merry-go-round ride because he had only three paisas with him. Since he had very limited money, he could not afford to spend it on the ride. He chose to save his money for a more important purpose, showing maturity and responsibility despite his young age and poverty.

Hamid’s friends showed their enjoyment on eating the sweets by smacking their lips with relishment.

Hamid was a happy, four-year-old, poor, and thin boy. His parents had died. He lived with his granny.

Hamid's friends enjoyed the games at the fair by mounting on the wooden horses and camels in the merry-go-round. They had a wonderful time riding on these attractions and completed twenty-five rounds of fun together. This was a source of great joy and entertainment for them during their visit to the fair, as they experienced the thrill and excitement of the rides.

Hamid bought a pair of tongs at the fair. He purchased this item for his Granny as a gift. Despite having limited money and being tempted by various attractions and toys at the fair, Hamid chose to buy something practical and useful for his grandmother, showing his love and care for her.

We wear a pair of spectacles on our face to see better. Spectacles are eyeglasses that help people with vision problems to see clearly. We wear a pair of earrings on our ears. Earrings are decorative ornaments or jewelry pieces that are worn by piercing the earlobes or attaching to the ears. They come in various designs, materials, and styles and are worn for both aesthetic and cultural purposes by people of different ages and genders.

We wear a pair of sunglasses on our face when it is sunny. Sunglasses are protective eyewear designed to shield our eyes from the harmful ultraviolet rays of the sun. They help reduce glare, protect the delicate eye area from sun damage, and provide comfort when we are outdoors in bright sunlight or during activities like driving or playing sports.

We cut things with a pair of scissors. Scissors are a cutting tool consisting of two metal blades that are joined together and operated by inserting fingers into two loops or handles. They are used for cutting various materials such as paper, cloth, hair, and other materials in households, schools, offices, and professional settings.

You would be grateful to the person for their honesty and kindness in taking the effort to return your lost item instead of keeping it or ignoring it.

When you are waiting for your exam results, you would feel anxious. This emotion arises because you are uncertain about the outcome and concerned about how well you performed. Feeling anxious means experiencing worry and nervousness about something that is about to happen. The suspense and uncertainty of not knowing your results creates tension and unease in your mind.

When it is very late at night and your father hasn't returned from the office, you would feel worried. This emotion arises because you are concerned about his safety and well-being. Feeling worried means experiencing fear and anxiety about something that might go wrong. The late hour combined with his unexpected absence creates concern in your mind, and you may think of various reasons why he has not yet come home.

When you have won the first prize in the essay writing competition, you would feel proud. This emotion arises because you have achieved success through your own hard work and talent. Feeling proud means experiencing a sense of accomplishment and satisfaction with your achievement. Winning first prize demonstrates that your effort, creativity, and writing skills have been recognized and appreciated, which naturally leads to a feeling of pride and self-respect.

On the first day at school, you would feel excited. This emotion arises because you are experiencing something new and unfamiliar. Feeling excited means experiencing enthusiasm and anticipation about what is to come. The first day of school brings many new experiences such as meeting new teachers, making new friends, exploring new classrooms, and learning new things, all of which create a sense of excitement and eagerness.
