Sample questions from this chapter

What is 60° in radian measure?
  1. π/3 ✓
  2. π/6
  3. π/2
Answer: A. Radians = degrees × π/180 = 60 × π/180 = π/3.
Why not B: π/6 is 30°, half of the angle asked for.
Why not C: π/2 is 90°, not 60°. This is the right angle — one standard angle too far up the table.
Why not D: Multiplies by 180/π instead of π/180 — the conversion has been applied upside down.
sin(x + y) is equal to which of these?
  1. sin x cos y + cos x sin y ✓
  2. sin x cos y − cos x sin y
  3. sin x sin y + cos x cos y
  4. cos x cos y − sin x sin y
Answer: A. sin(x + y) = sin x cos y + cos x sin y. The sine expansion mixes sin with cos in both terms; the cosine expansion keeps like with like.
Why not B: This is sin(x − y). The minus sign belongs to the difference formula.
Why not C: This is cos(x − y) — a cosine expansion, not a sine one.
Why not D: This is cos(x + y).
What is the general solution of sin x = 1/2?
  1. x = nπ + (−1)ⁿ π/6 ✓
  2. x = 2nπ ± π/6
  3. x = nπ ± π/6
  4. x = 2nπ + π/6
Answer: A. For sin x = sin α the general solution is x = nπ + (−1)ⁿα. With α = π/6, the alternating (−1)ⁿ is what produces π/6 and 5π/6 in turn.
Why not B: This is the form for a COSINE equation. Applied here it would generate x = −π/6, where sin x = −1/2.
Why not C: This is the form for a TANGENT equation.
Why not D: Generates only the first-quadrant family π/6, 2π + π/6, … and misses the second-quadrant solutions 5π/6, 2π + 5π/6, … where sine is also 1/2.

Questions

How many NEET questions are there on Trigonometric Functions?

This chapter test has 30 questions — 10 easy, 14 medium and 6 hard — all written against the NCERT Class 11 chapter.

Is this NEET Maths chapter test free?

Yes. Every chapter test is free with no login, and you get your all-India rank on every one. Nothing on the site is on sale right now.

Do the questions explain the wrong options?

Yes — every distractor carries its own explanation naming the specific misconception that makes a student pick it. That is the part most question banks skip, and it is the part that changes your next attempt.
