What is the passing mark for TNTET?

What is the TNTET Paper II syllabus?

Paper II is for teachers of Classes 6 to 8. It has 150 MCQ questions — Child Development & Pedagogy (30), Language I Tamil (30), Language II English (30), and either Mathematics & Science or Social Science (60 questions). Duration: 2 hours 30 minutes.

What qualifications are needed to apply for TNTET?

Paper I (Classes 1–5): Senior Secondary (12th pass) with at least 50% marks and a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed or equivalent).

Paper II (Classes 6–8): Graduation with at least 50% marks and a B.Ed degree, or equivalent qualifications as per NCTE norms.

How many times can I attempt TNTET? Does the certificate expire?

There is no limit on the number of attempts. You can appear for TNTET as many times as you wish until you pass. The TNTET qualification certificate is valid for 7 years from the date of result publication.

Is TNTET conducted online or offline?

TNTET is conducted offline (OMR-based) at designated examination centres across Tamil Nadu. Candidates mark answers on an OMR sheet using a ball-point pen. No calculator or electronic devices are permitted.

When is TNTET 2025?
