Read this before you count the questions

UPTET and CTET are set to the same NCTE syllabus — the same six subjects, the same 30-mark blocks, the same 150 marks in 2½ hours with no negative marking. So the 2,060 questions here are the questions our CTET arena serves, and practising them prepares you for both papers. What is yours alone is your progress: UPTET Paper I and Paper II have their own campaigns, points and board, kept separate from CTET's.

When is the next UPTET?

The last UPTET was the 2021 exam, held in January 2022. The Examination Regulatory Authority in Prayagraj has not notified another one since, and we are not going to invent a date to fill this space. Until it is notified, the useful move is the one that counts either way: CTET runs twice a year on this same syllabus, and clearing it qualifies you across India, UP included. Everything you answer here counts for both.

Frequently asked questions

Is UPTET the same as CTET?
They are different exams with the same syllabus. Both are set to the NCTE's teacher-eligibility framework — Child Development & Pedagogy, two languages, and the subject sections, 150 marks in 2½ hours with no negative marking. CTET is conducted by CBSE and qualifies you across India, including in Uttar Pradesh; UPTET is conducted by the Examination Regulatory Authority in Prayagraj and qualifies you for UP. Practice for one is practice for the other, which is why the questions here are shared.
What is the difference between UPTET Paper 1 and Paper 2?
Paper 1 qualifies you to teach Classes 1 to 5; Paper 2 qualifies you to teach Classes 6 to 8. Anyone who wants to teach Classes 1 to 8 sits both. Child Development & Pedagogy and the two language sections appear in both papers — which is why they appear in both campaigns here, and why a question from them is badged "Paper I + II".
What are the UPTET qualifying marks?
60% — that is 90 out of 150 — for the general category, relaxed to 55% (82/150) for SC, ST, OBC and other reserved categories as per UP norms. There is no limit on attempts, and since the NCTE's 2021 decision the certificate is valid for a lifetime rather than seven years.
When is the next UPTET exam?
There is no notification as of now. The last UPTET was the 2021 cycle, whose exam was held in January 2022, and no fresh advertisement has been issued since. We will not print a date we cannot stand behind. Meanwhile CTET is held twice a year on the same syllabus and its certificate is valid in Uttar Pradesh, so nothing you practise here is wasted either way.
Are the questions available in Hindi?
Yes, wherever a Hindi version exists — which is every section except the Language paper. A Language I or II question set in English has no Hindi equivalent, so it is shown in English to both readers rather than being padded out with a duplicate line. Use the gear in the HUD to read English only, हिन्दी only, or both together; it changes the current question without ending your run.
Do I have to pay, or sign in, to practise?
No. Every practice question and every explanation here is free and open with no login. Points, divisions and the points table are the free layer on top.
